Virtual Design Conference Speaking
In May 2023, I had the honor of being a virtual speaker at the Designer Boss Summit. To address a common struggle I faced during my freelance design journey, I decided to create a presentation that would guide attendees through my branding process. Seeking input from my Instagram community, I asked for suggestions on a fictional business to build the presentation around, including services, vibe, and name.
With the valuable input received, I developed a captivating presentation centred on a fictional brand called "Sugar Coated." Sugar Coated is an inclusive in-person and online baking class designed for aspiring or hobbyist bakers, providing a supportive and enjoyable environment to enhance their skills.
By involving my Instagram community in the project, I ensured that the presentation would cater to their interests and maintain their engagement. The presentation was shared in a closed Facebook group of over 4,000 community members and following the presentation, I engaged with the attendees in a live Q&A session. During this interactive session, I addressed various topics related to running a design business, my branding process, and finding inspiration, among other relevant subjects.

Furthermore, I offered a complimentary bonus to attendees who purchased a resource bundle provided by summit speakers. The bonus was a brand guide template with an added prompts layer, designed to simplify its usability. The feedback I received in response to this offering and my presentation was overwhelmingly supportive and positive. It fills me with pride to have participated in the summit and to know that my provided information will assist others on their freelance design journey.
